Recovery & Aftercare
Making space for your recovery
The practical questions to ask before your procedure.
The practical questions to ask before your procedure.
Ask for your own instructions
Recovery guidance depends on the procedure and the individual. Before treatment, ask how your team will explain aftercare and provide written instructions that apply to you.
Plan the practical support
Discuss transport, accommodation, help at home, work commitments and follow-up appointments with the relevant people. Avoid relying on another patient’s timetable as a prediction of your own recovery.
Know who to contact
Keep the contact route provided by your treating team and clarify what to do if you have concerns. The clinic’s final aftercare information should identify the appropriate local and urgent-care contacts.
Collect the procedures you are interested in, then use your plan as a starting point for a clinical conversation.
