About the procedure

A little clarity.
A considered decision.

A breast lift, or mastopexy, raises and reshapes the breasts by removing excess skin and adjusting the supporting tissue. Pregnancy, weight changes and ageing can all affect breast shape and skin elasticity. A lift mainly changes position and shape; it does not substantially increase breast volume. The approach depends on the amount of drooping, the existing tissue and your goals. Consultation should cover permanent scars, potential changes in sensation and how future pregnancy or weight changes might affect the result.

A little clarity

Your questions,
answered.

Will a lift make my breasts larger?

A lift reshapes and raises tissue; it does not substantially add volume.

Are implants always necessary?

No. Whether additional volume is wanted or appropriate is a separate discussion.

Can breasts change after a lift?

Yes. Ageing, pregnancy and weight changes continue to affect breast shape.

Does adding this procedure confirm my suitability?

No. Build My Plan records your interests for discussion. A qualified clinician must assess suitability, risks and any alternatives.

How do I find out my own recovery plan?

Ask your treating team for written instructions, review arrangements and contact details appropriate to your procedure and health.
